Assistant Pastor

“There are no positions of honor. There are only positions of service.”
Pastor Kelan Jovan Fielder is the second of four children born to Kris and Demetria Fielder of Detroit, Michigan.
His journey as a minister of the gospel began in Pine Forge Elementary, a two classroom building affectionately known by its students as “The Little School.” There he was taught that godliness/godlikeness was the goal his heavenly Father wanted him to reach. After graduating from Pine Forge Elementary he continued his education at Pine Forge Academy, where he excelled in scholastics and sports.
Oakwood College, now Oakwood University, would be the place where Pastor Fielder would discover God’s calling on his life for ministry in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. There he studied theology while taking part in the spiritual and social activities on campus. During his tenure at Oakwood College, Pastor Fielder was a chaplain for the Aeolians and for the graduating class of 2007. He was also the public relations director for the Religion and Theology Forum.
After graduating from Oakwood College with a B.A. in Theology and a minor in biblical languages, Pastor Fielder was sent to Andrews University by the Allegheny East Conference to pursue a master’s degree in theology. While at Andrews, he served as an intern pastor for the Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church in Chicago Heights, Illinois under Senior Pastor James D. Parker. In addition, Pastor Fielder was a worship leader for various services on the Andrews campus.
Pastor Fielder’s greatest joy was in finding and marrying the love of his life, the former Pranitha Pilli. They married on June 21, 2009, and are excited about the unique calling the Lord has for their ministry. Pastor Fielder believes with every fiber of his being that the Lord is coming soon, and his prayer is that he can be an instrument in preparing souls whose lamps are trimmed and burning on that great day.
