TAKOMA ACADEMY COMMENCEMENT SERVICE — All are invited to Takoma Academy’s graduation service, Sunday at 11 a.m.  Hope to see you there!

EFFECTIVE EXERCISE CLASS — Exercise classes, sponsored by our Parish Nurses Team, meet on Sundays, from 8:30 a.m. ‑ 9:30 a.m.; and on Wednesdays, from 6:00 p.m.‑ 7:00 p.m.  Our instructor is Michael Acham, Certified Personal Trainer.  FMI, contact Betsy Johnson, Parish Nurse, at 301-672-9257.

SEASONED CITIZENS MID-DAY PRAYER   MEETING — We will NOT have mid-day prayer meeting in June or July.  We look forward to reconvening in August.

YOUTH PRAYER MEETING — We will NOT have Youth Prayer Meeting in June or July.  We look forward to reconvening in August. Have a wonderful summer!

MID-WEEK PRAYER SERVICE — Everyone is invited to join us on Wednesday evenings, from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in Wills Chapel sanctuary, as we study Ellen G. White’s, Ministry of Healing.  You will not want to miss these studies of important truths as we continue to prepare for our Savior's soon return.

G. E. PETERS ALUMNI WEEKEND — Join G.E. Peters as they celebrate 25 years in service, June 8th and 9th beginning on Friday with Vespers at 7:00pm.  On Sabbath, come to church, lunch, vespers, and a basketball game.  All programs will take place at Metro’s Auditorium.  Can’t wait to see you there!!!  FMI contact Monique Harper at moniqueharper3@yahoo.com.


LOOKING FORWARD

BRINKLOW FAMILY TUNE-UP — The next Brinklow Family Tune-Up will be on Sabbath afternoon June 9th right here at church. “One is Enough!” presented by Dr. Elizabeth Watson, Associate Professor of Social Work at North Carolina A&T State University.  The fellowship hall will be available if you would like to potluck or brown bag your lunch.  Please plan to join us!!

2012 VBS PRESENTS SKY!  VBS will take place July 16th - July 21st, from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  The theme is, “Everything is possible with God”.  Volunteers are needed (Crew Leaders, Station Leaders, Kitchen Crew, Decorators, etc).  FMI, please contact Nadia Kennedy or Charlene Williams at vbs@emmanueladventist.org.

A “FOOD HANDLING CLASS” presented by Health Ministries and Parish Nurse Departments, will feature our own Dr. Joan Hampson.  The class is 16 hours to be held on 2 consecutive Sunday sessions of 8 hours each. An exam will be taken during the 2nd session (Those passing the exam will be awarded a 5 year certificate for safe food handling).  FMI, including cost, visit the Health Ministries table in the lobby.  When signing up please indicate your preference for the 3rd and 4th Sunday of August 2012 or the 1st and 2nd Sunday in September 2012.

  Brinklow's Family Life Retreat will be held on Sept. 7-9 at Northbay   Retreat Center. Don't miss out on all the fun and relaxation we experienced last year.  Please see the family life table for registration packets.

— Our YOUTH want to help you and your neighbors!  Do you need help around the house or in your yard? The day was wonderful, highlighting our children and your words of love and esteem. Please know that the feelings are mutual, for there are no men on earth like the Men Of Brinklow!  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

THANK YOU to all the ladies who supported the Women's Ministries Tea.  We had a wonderful time fellowshipping, eating delicious food and listening to beautiful music (Harp, Cello and Vocal). The hostesses did a fabulous job with their table decorations, the Fellowship Hall was truly transformed. Special thanks to Dawna Baker, April McCoy, William Lawrence, Donte Kennedy, Ryan Johnson, Terrell Glover and Aren and Vaughn Westney for helping to make the room transformation possible.
