SABBATH
EAST CAMPUS DEDICATION will take place THIS SABBATH following our 11:00 Communion service. ALL are invited to attend.
COMMUNITY SERVICE MINISTRIES is excited about “Families Connected”. We have teamed up with the Towne Centre Place and Sandy Spring Meadows HOC facilities and they are requesting summer volunteers! We need volunteers who can commit some time with the children and parents in our neighborhood. The volunteers should have some time during the day, patience for children, and the willingness to spread some love! The activities begin on June 25th and run through mid-August. Please visit the welcome desk after either service to receive a volunteer application form to fill out, sign, and submit. Let us help you to learn lifestyle change activities that can bring order, balance, and direction in your life through the PLUS 15 program. Class will take place from July 22nd-Aug. 5th. LOBBY HEALTH VISITS — The Parish/Faith Community Nurse Team is so proud of the amount of physical activity that you, our members, are involved in. It is our desire to capture that activity for the Let's Move and In Step for Life programs. Our next lobby visit will be on July 14th, and will focus on the Buddy system to help encourage others to get involved and to log in all of our activity. See you in the Lobby!!!!
A “FOOD HANDLING CLASS” presented by Health Ministries and Parish Nurse Departments, will feature our own Dr. Joan Hampson. The class is 16 hours to be held on 2 consecutive Sunday sessions of 8 hours each. An exam will be taken during the 2nd session (Those passing the exam will be awarded a 5 year certificate for safe food handling). FMI, including cost, visit the Health Ministries table in the lobby. When signing up please indicate your preference for the 3rd and 4th Sunday of August 2012 or the 1st and 2nd Sunday in September 2012.

Patrick and Brian are teaming up for the 2nd year to teach young people about basketball, life skills, and God. The clinic will take place at Washington Adventist University from July 16- 20 for boys and girls ages 6-16. DETERMINING YOUR CHILD’S DEVELOPMENTAL LEVEL — While attending this year’s campmeeting, take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about where your child falls on the developmental continuum. This test is intended to provide insight to guide appropriate instruction and expectations for children based on their developmental stage level. (Singles Obeying & Uplifting the Lord) Ministries will host a Singles Potluck from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the AEC Cheatham Complex (new building). Please pick up a flyer from the Welcome Center to see what items you are asked to bring. Please fill out a registration form and return it by June 28th. Entrance to the potluck will only be for individuals with tickets and a dish. 4th OF JULY SUMMER FUN — A Summer Festival is scheduled for Wednesday, July 4th, from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Dupont Park SDA School (3942 Alabama Avenue SE, Washington, DC). A day of food, fellowship and fun is planned for the entire family. Tickets will be available for activities and food. Proceeds to benefit the ADRA Haitian School Building Project.
