He is a graduate of Pine Forge Academy and of Oakwood College, where he earned his earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology. Pastor Medley's ministry began in Northeastern Conference, where he pastored churches in Albany, Troy, Long Island, and Harlem, New York. He also served as Director of Youth Ministries for the conference.
After 14 years of ministry in New York, Pastor Medley accepted the invitation to become College Chaplain at Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama. He was soon asked to serve as the Special Assistant to the President for Spiritual Life, and eventually became Vice President of Student Services. After six years of service at Oakwood College, Pastor Medley returned to ministry as pastor of the Northwest Houston congregation and then as co-pastor of the Capitol Hill Church in Washington, D.C.
Pastor Medley is a 4th Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and is the founder and Master Instructor of Tae Kwon Do Lifestyle Ministries. He is married to the former India Pinkney, his high-school sweetheart, and their union has been blessed with two children, Mylon and Anthony II. Pastor Medley believes that his mission in life is to proclaim Christ as the source of salvation. He believes that, because of the incarnation of Christ, we are reconciled to Him for the sake of others.
“My prayer is first and foremost, to be Spirit-led in advancing the Kingdom of God in earth's closing hours.”
The ministry of Pastor Gary Wimbish has had different manifestions over the past 31 years as a pastor, educator, and administrator. Pastor Wimbish is a graduate of Oakwood College located in Huntsville, Alabama and Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, where he received his Bachelor and Master of Divinity degrees in Theology, respectively. His journey of service and ministry began in Cleveland, Ohio in 1974, where he served as the assistant pastor at the Southeast SDA Church. After pastoring at a number of churches in the Allegheny West and Southeastern California conferences of Seventh-day Adventists, teaching and serving as an administrator at Oakwood College, and serving as a Law School Dean, he feels especially privileged to serve God's people at this time.
The challenges of life and ministry that confront God's church provide Pastor Wimbish the opportunity to combine his passion for education, administrative management, and applied theology. His administrative goal is two-fold: 1) to assist the church members and leaders in operating more efficiently and effectively, and 2) to emanicipate the senior and assistant pastors from mundane, but critically important management tasks of the church, which thereby empowers them to focus on their unique gifts of ministry to our members.
His greatest joy in ministry is witnessing God's transforming power at work in the lives of His people. Pastor Wimbish believes fully that our sole mission is "to make disciples,” as found in Matthew 28:19. He believes this is the divine directive that must inspire not only our ministry, but our very lifestyle. Pastor Wimbish is blessed to have a loving and supportive family in his wife, Cecelia T. Lester, M.D., and their children, Khalea, Kyle, and Brennan.
Pastor Gary believes in the Abrahamic blessing! God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others. His prayer is to be God's medium in blessing His people at Emmanuel-Brinklow.
Kelan J. Fielder, B.A, M.Div.
“There are no positions of honor. There are only positions of service.”
Pastor Kelan Jovan Fielder is the second of four children born to Kris and Demetria Fielder of Detroit, Michigan.
His journey as a minister of the gospel began in Pine Forge Elementary, a two classroom building affectionately known by its students as “The Little School.” There he was taught that godliness/godlikeness was the goal his heavenly Father wanted him to reach. After graduating from Pine Forge Elementary he continued his education at Pine Forge Academy, where he excelled in scholastics and sports.
Oakwood College, now Oakwood University, would be the place where Pastor Fielder would discover God’s calling on his life for ministry in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. There he studied theology while taking part in the spiritual and social activities on campus. During his tenure at Oakwood College, Pastor Fielder was a chaplain for the Aeolians and for the graduating class of 2007. He was also the public relations director for the Religion and Theology Forum.
After graduating from Oakwood College with a B.A. in Theology and a minor in biblical languages, Pastor Fielder was sent to Andrews University by the Allegheny East Conference to pursue a master’s degree in theology. While at Andrews, he served as an intern pastor for the Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church in Chicago Heights, Illinois under Senior Pastor James D. Parker. In addition, Pastor Fielder was a worship leader for various services on the Andrews campus.
Pastor Fielder’s greatest joy was in finding and marrying the love of his life, the former Pranitha Pilli. They married on June 21, 2009, and are excited about the unique calling the Lord has for their ministry. Pastor Fielder believes with every fiber of his being that the Lord is coming soon, and his prayer is that he can be an instrument in preparing souls whose lamps are trimmed and burning on that great day.
